Marc Marquez, still convalescing after an injury to his right shoulder six months ago, was the best and fastest over the 12 laps of the sprint, ahead of his Ducati teammate, the Italian Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia.

His compatriots Franco Morbidelli (Ducati-VR46) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati-VR46) finished in good 3rd and 5th places, framing the KTM of South African Brad Binder.

On the other hand, the Frenchman Johann Zarco (Honda-LCR), 2nd on the grid on a wet track Saturday morning, was overtaken despite good resistance and finished in 8th place, just behind his compatriot from Nice and 2021 world champion, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), 7th.

Untouchable since the end of the 2025 season, with five victories in a row, and favorite for the title this year, the Italian Marco Bezzecchi on Aprilia was also trapped by the rain and fell to finish 17th three laps behind the leader.

Alex Marquez, Marc’s younger brother, on his Ducati-Gresini, also fell four laps from the end of the sprint.

Given the weather conditions, the race management authorized the competitors to change motorcycles, 10 laps from the end.

This is what Marc Marquez did after also falling in the rain at the end of the race. While going to collect his second mount from the pits, he went through a stretch of grass instead of the prescribed path, but this did not earn him any penalty.

The drivers will compete on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Spanish Grand Prix race over 25 laps.
