Carroll County Board of Education tables new Citizen Participation Guidelines until the next meeting

At the September 14th Carroll County Board of Education meeting on the agenda was “Approval of Citizen Participation Guidelines”

Some basic information:

A great deal of conversation was had on this topic at the Board meeting (both from public comments about the new guidelines and during the discussion on this issue) and the Board chose to make tweaks to the proposed changes and tabled action on this topic until the next meeting.

The vote to table this item was unanimous.

Note: There will be changes coming forward to the previous version of what was proposed…so stay tuned…The Observer will publish the newly proposed changes once they are released to the public.

What does look like it will remain in the new guidelines is the limiting to 15 participants / slots per meeting and the requirement to pre-register (online, phone and maybe by paper drop off). Again, The Observer will publish the complete version of the revisions to fully understand the changes and inform the community.
