Sweden punishes Tunisia 5 to 1

Sweden perfectly negotiated its start to the World Cup by crushing (5-1) Tunisia which sank at the end of the match, Sunday evening in Monterrey, a result which allows it to take sole lead of group F.

The men of British coach Graham Potter, who had qualified late for the World Cup by beating Poland 3-2 at the last minute in the European play-off final at home, are in an ideal position for the rest of the World Cup, after the draw (2-2) which occurred a little earlier in Dallas between the Netherlands and Japan in the other match in their group.

On Sunday, the Swedes started the game very well as it only took 7 minutes for Yasin Ayari to open the scoring with a powerful strike. Liverpool striker Alexander Isak doubled the lead in the 30th with a shot from the edge of the area flush with Abdelmouhib Chamakh’s post.

The selection coached by Frenchman Sabri Lamouchi was able to nourish the hope of a comeback by reducing the score before the break by Omar Rekik.

But Sweden, who had missed the World Cup in Qatar, rolled in the second half, worsening the score by Viktor Gyökeres in the 59th before the end of the match turned into punishment for the overwhelmed Tunisians, who conceded two more goals in the last minutes, first by Mattias Svanberg (84th) then by a double from Ayari in the final moments of added time.
