If he wanted to mark his first professional victory, Belgian cyclist Liam Slock couldn’t have done better than on Sunday when he crossed the line at the Canton of Aargau GP by sliding sideways after falling while celebrating.

Seeing his victory acquired in Gippingen in this Swiss race, the 25-year-old Belgian turned around one last time and put his head in his hands.

Before spreading out full length on the tarmac, just before the finish line which he crossed on a slide but as a winner ahead of Alexandr Vlasov, Richard Carapaz, Thibau Nys and Julian Alaphilippe, only big names.

“Unforgettable photo-finish for Liam Slock’s first pro victory,” the Lotto-Intermarché team gently mocked the rider from Ghent by sharing the images of his victorious fall which was delighting social networks.

This Monday, the team continued to have fun with the buzz generated, broadcasting numerous diversions from the fall and talking about a victory that had become “legendary”. We see Liam Slock as a surfer, a tennis player diving to catch a ball, a volleyball player (diving to catch the ball) or a burglar avoiding laser detectors like Vincent Cassel in full capoeira in “Ocean’s Twelve”. Nice.
