Meillard ends his season on a new podium

- Jackson Avery

Loïc Meillard largely dominated the first round of the slalom in Hafjell, Norway, this Wednesday morning, relegating all his pursuers to more than 60 hundredths. But the Valaisan was beaten in the second round by the Norwegian Timon Haugan. He finally finished second (+0.44). The Finnish Eduard Hallberg (+1.03) completes the podium.

Eighth in the race, the Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath achieved the worst performance of his winter in slalom (excluding retirements) but won the small globe in the specialty, the first of his career, with 584 points.

Despite his retirement in the Olympic slalom in Bormio while heading towards victory – the images of his distress and his solitary walk towards a small wood near the track went around the world – McGrath was the most consistent between the poles this winter.

In eleven slaloms on the World Cup circuit, he was on the podium six times, including two victories.
