Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle arrived in Australia on Tuesday for their first visit to the country since their falling out with the British royal family, with some high-priced events on their agenda.

The son of King Charles III, Australia’s head of state, is due to speak at a summit in Melbourne devoted to mental health, for which tickets are being offered at the dizzying price of 997 Australian dollars (around 550 francs).

Meanwhile, Meghan will participate in a three-day “retreat” at the interContinental Coogee Beach hotel in Sydney, with yoga, sound therapy, dinners and disco evenings, for the modest sum of 2,699 Australian dollars (1,500 francs) per person, according to the organizers. Those willing to pay even more will get access to the “VIP experience,” which includes a group photo at the table with Meghan and goodies.

The duo will also visit the capital, Canberra, public broadcaster ABC reported.

It is the couple’s first trip to Australia since 2018. The couple had spent two weeks traveling around the country as well as New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, in a visit which attracted enthusiastic crowds.

Jess Wilson, the opposition leader of the state of Victoria, where Melbourne is located, protested against the use of taxpayers’ money to provide security for the couple.

The son of King Charles III withdrew from the royal family in 2020 after a resounding departure from the United Kingdom and now lives in California with his wife and their two children.
