What should not be a surprise is that President Biden holds an advantage over Trump and DeSantis in Maryland.

Biden vs DeSantis statewide: Biden 51%, DeSantis: 37%
Maybe the most interesting fact of the polling noted above is that DeSantis polls better with “Independents” than does former President Trump per the polling (and even better than President Biden head to head in Maryland).
Independents Biden vs Trump: Biden 44%, Trump 41%
Independents Biden vs DeSantis: DeSantis 48%, Biden 41%
Noted in the polling document: “Among independents, DeSantis leads 48% to 41%. The sluggish enthusiasm among independents for the president demonstrated here is not necessarily an irreparable trend, but it’s a troublesome signal.”
