Carroll County Board of Education Race Update: Battaglia, Dorsey and Whisler win in 2022

After the second round of counting mail in ballots and counting provisional ballots by the Carroll County Board of Elections on November 16th we can now call the 2022 race for Board of Education in Carroll County for Tara Battaglia, Patricia Ann Dorsey and Steve Whisler.

Here are the vote counts as of this morning:

Placing the candidates in order of most votes as of today:

  • Tara Battaglia: 33,995
  • Steve Whisler: 32,109
  • Patricia Ann Dorsey: 30,137
  • James Miller: 28,885
  • Amanda Jozkowski: 28,064
  • Tom Scanlan: 25,608

The latest from the Carroll County Board of Elections is that there are around 400 more ballots to be counted on Friday (November 18th).

There has not been an update from Tom Scanlan (Scanlan for Education) on social media at the time of this article.

This will end the active coverage of the 2022 election cycle from The Observer (although after all votes are counted there may be some post election analysis articles).

2024 will be here before you know it and the Carroll County Board of Education will have two open seats for that election cycle (Herbert and Sivigny are term limited – both winning seats on the Board in 2016 and reelected in 2020).
