Pogacar crushes his rivals in the Tourmalet and grabs yellow

In demonstration, Tadej Pogacar won the sixth stage of the Tour de France alone to take the yellow jersey, Thursday in Gavarnie-Gèdre, after attacking in the Tourmalet 44 km from the finish.

After an acceleration from his teammate Isaac del Toro, the Slovenian left alone at the entrance to La Mongie, a little over 4 km from the summit of the giant of the Pyrenees.

He was followed at a good distance by Jonas Vingegaard, who gradually lost time to finish 2 minutes and 38 seconds behind his great rival, an already very significant gap.

In the general classification, Tadej Pogacar has widened an already significant gap. The double world champion has a margin of 2’42 over Vingegaard and 3’27 over his teammate Isaac del Toro (3rd). Remco Evenepoel is 4th at 3’30. Jurassien Yannis Voisard, 16th in the stage at 8’21, is in 14th place overall at 12’21.
