The outage continues for some subscribers

A frozen, sky-blue screen: this is what thousands of households must have watched this Monday evening on the television set. Thinking that it was an isolated case or that she had simply stuck in an outlet, a Geneva woman took her troubles patiently on Monday evening: “I’ve been struggling with my TV for hours.” However, she was far from the only one concerned.

Since 5:30 p.m., many Swiss households subscribing to Swisscom have been deprived of their programs. “The screen is completely black and it’s choppy… Well, I hope it will be resolved before L’Amour est dans le pré,” explained a Vaudoise at the start of the evening, whose wish was not granted.

For her part, a Valais resident was worried about the time it would take and hoped that customers would be “quickly informed of the problem.” Another user felt that it was a good evening to “play football on the PS5”. “It’s very sad!”, he quipped.

Other operators not affected

Contacted by 20 Minuten around 8:30 p.m., Annina Merk, spokesperson for Swisscom, indicated that it was “impossible, at this stage, to give a precise time frame for the resolution of the outage”. However, she emphasized that the technical teams were actively working to put the network back into service.

But, around 11 p.m., the outage was resolved in the majority of homes. “Swisscom blue TV and our Swisscom blue TV app are fully available again. All TV services are currently available to customers,” Swisscom spokesperson Anina Merk told our colleagues at 20 Minuten. However, the television still does not seem to be working Tuesday morning for some of our readers.

Although the disruption also seemed to affect the website of the main Swiss operator, communications were not affected. The other operators did not encounter any problems.
