The testimony is offered this Sunday in “Sept à quatre”, on TF1. But the show broadcast some poignant extracts in advance. We see Mimie Mathy on a wheelchair. “Except for a miracle, and I don’t believe it at all, I won’t walk again,” explains the 69-year-old actress and comedian.
“Mimie Mathy agrees to show this new dependence. And to talk about it, with this smile and this humor that we know well. She can no longer walk and therefore only moves around in a wheelchair,” indicates “Sept à quatre”, as reported by “Dauphiné”.
“For 6 months I haven’t walked at all,” notes the star of “Josephine, Guardian Angel.” The actress says she has “what’s called ponytail syndrome.” She explains that she has been operated on four times to widen the spinal canal and “release a little of all the nerves that allow mobility”. But there is no longer any operation possible, according to the doctors, it would be too risky.
Mimie Mathy observes that this is not a surprise. “Not a surprise, but I thought it would come a little later, and I thought I would be stronger than everyone,” she comments with a half-smile. “But I’m not stronger than everyone so… you have to accept.”
The actress does not hide her anger: “I took time to digest it, it took me a while, I found it unfair.” But she also emphasizes being lucky to have a husband who loves her and to be well surrounded.
“I’m going to make it a strength, and a new show that talks about that,” she concludes.
