Carroll County Commissioner Kenny Kiler (District 2) provided the following update on November 2, 2023 about the poolroom closure at North Carroll Senior Center (located in Hampstead):

Here is a speech to text translation from the video above (while not prefect…this will give you an idea of what was said on November 2nd)

“Many of you have heard probably about the North Carroll Senior Center and the pool room there and I just I don’t want to get into great detail but Department of Aging the seniors people the staff both in the building and and outside the building have dealt with it in a very positive way I think they’ve met with some people they’re going to do another meeting it will be reopened it will be reopened with some more stringent rules its unfortunate that we have to you mentioned there’s just seems to be so much bickering in this world and and we need to stop it and that one of the things I was very impressed many of the pool players said we need to self police ourselves better if somebody in that room and I won’t get into what they do but does something negative we need to say something to them and not laugh and ignore them and we all need to do that so I just wanted to assure everybody that’s being worked on that’s happening I think in a very positive way”
