Now that the 2022 elections are over I have decided to pause operations of The Carroll County Observer for the remainder of the calendar year.

A primary goal of The Observer was to cover the local elections and provide as much information as possible to the voters of Carroll County. Hopefully that was done successfully this year.

Another goal of The Observer was to write about local stories that may not have been covered by the “major” local media outlets. Hopefully I got a few articles out there that you might not have known about otherwise.

We are entering the holiday season (Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years and other holidays) and I want to take a break from reporting and spend more time with family and friends for the remainder of 2022.

Another reason for the pause in operations is that this will provide me the time to reevaluate what The Observer is reporting and look at other opportunities to use other forms of reporting in the future.

I expect there will be a great number of items to cover in 2023: The various upcoming local municipality elections, four new commissioners and how that changes the dynamic on the local Board of Commissioners, things happening in Annapolis, lots of high school sports and a variety of other local items.

I will be sure to update the readers and followers on social media when things ramp back up in 2023.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.
