The Carroll County REALTORS® endorse candidates for Maryland’s July 19, 2022 Primary Election, including the reelection of Senator Justin Ready, Delegate April Rose, and District 5 Commissioner Ed Rothstein. State’s Attorney Candidate Haven Shoemaker and District 3 Commissioner Candidate Tom Gordon also receive endorsements in their respective open seat races.

The Carroll County REALTORS® are pleased to announce their endorsements for local and state candidates in Maryland’s upcoming July 19th Primary Election. They are as follows:

  • The Carroll County REALTORS® endorse Carroll County Commissioner Candidate Incumbent Ed Rothstein for District 5 and Carroll County Commissioner Candidate Tom Gordon for District 3.
  • The Carroll County REALTORS® endorse Haven Shoemaker for Carroll County State’s Attorney.
  • The Carroll County REALTORS® joins the Maryland REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustees in supporting the reelection of Senator Justin Ready and Delegate April Rose.

As part of the announcement, current Carroll County REALTORS® President Jeanne Vargo stated, “These candidates best represent the views of REALTORS® as they relate to the future of Carroll County. They know, as we do, that to remain a vibrant community, we need to develop a wide variety of housing options to meet the needs of our residents.”

“REALTORS® believe that the County should be a place which permits lifelong residents to age in place and that attracts younger residents with quality jobs and affordable housing options, allowing them to come back home and raise their families. By developing a diverse range of housing types at a variety of price points, we can also attract quality employers to diversify our tax base and provide tax relief to area residents,” said Vargo. “These candidates share our vision for a Carroll County which embraces progress while also retaining the character and sense of community which distinguishes us from surrounding jurisdictions.”

The Carroll County REALTORS® support of Senator Ready and Delegate Rose is made in conjunction with the Maryland REALTORS®, which represents over 28,000 REALTORS® statewide. The Maryland REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustees’ support for incumbents is based on their voting record on REALTORS® legislative initiatives as well as their willingness to promote policies that strengthen private property rights, homeownership, and the commercial real estate market.
