The separation was announced directly on Elon Musk’s social network. In a message published Friday on X, Shivon Zilis, 40, talks about the end of his relationship with the billionaire, according to “Bild”. She describes going, in a few days, from a love affair to the need to “let go” of the man with whom she shared her life.
The tech executive talks about a separation she wouldn’t have seen coming. She claims to have wanted to offer Elon Musk a space of stability and serenity, far from the tensions that regularly surround the entrepreneur. Their home was, she writes in substance, a place where everyone was happy to find them.
“I loved him more than my own life”
The tone becomes particularly personal when she talks about what this relationship meant to her. “I loved him more than my own life,” she confides, before explaining that Musk would have profoundly changed her life and would have passed on a lot to her.
Shivon Zilis also says he hopes that this separation will not prevent them from maintaining a close relationship and continuing to raise their four children together. She concluded her message with some particularly conciliatory words: “God bless you, Elon.”
According to “Bild”, Musk no longer follows Shivon Zilis on X, the social network he owns. The 55-year-old billionaire, however, has not made any public statement confirming or commenting on the split.
Four children together
The two met while working in the OpenAI ecosystem, before Shivon Zilis pursued his career at Musk-related companies. Their twins Strider and Azure were born in 2021, followed by Arcadia in 2024 and then Seldon Lycurgus in 2025.
Their relationship had never really fit the traditional model of the public couple. They were not married and spoke relatively little about their private lives, although they had made several appearances together.
Elon Musk is also the father of numerous other children, notably with Canadian singer Grimes and influencer Ashley St. Clair. According to figures published by several media, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX is now the father of at least thirteen children.
