Peter Zeidler will no longer coach Grasshopper. The Zurich club, 10th in the Super League standings, announced on Monday that the 64-year-old coach had been dismissed from his duties with immediate effect. “After an in-depth analysis of the current sporting situation, the club has decided to make a change at the head of the team and to redefine its sporting orientation,” writes GC in a press release.
The German coach took the reins of the team in May 2026, in a difficult period, recalls the club, which suffered two heavy defeats against Sion (5-2) and Lucerne (5-1).
While waiting to find a successor, the interim management of training will be ensured by assistant coaches Daniel Pavlovic and Shkelzen Gashi, explains Grasshopper, who thanks the former Lausanne-Sport coach “for his great commitment over the last few months, in particular for maintaining during the play-offs”.
