What time does the concert start?
The doors of the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre will open at 6 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Beware of a little confusion: some tickets and platforms show 7:30 p.m., but the venue officially confirms that the show will start at 8 p.m. There will be no opening act and the organizers therefore recommend arriving early enough.
How long will the show last?
Celine Dion herself had humorously warned her fans in front of her Parisian hotel: “Put on good shoes!” The message is not trivial. While its previous shows lasted around 1h40, the new show should exceed 2h15.
How many spectators are expected?
Around 30,000 people are expected for this first evening. The sixteen concerts scheduled between this Saturday and October 17 represent some 480,000 tickets, sold in a few days after phenomenal demand. Ten additional dates are already planned in May 2027.
What will she sing?
It’s one of the best kept secrets. No official setlist has been leaked. The great French-speaking classics should, however, occupy an important place: “So that you still love me”, “I will go where you go”, “Destin” or “If it was enough to love” are among the expected titles. His recent piece “Dansons”, signed Jean-Jacques Goldman, should also be performed, as should “Bonjour, Pardon, Merci”, written by Ycare and Renaud Rebillaud, which would have been rehearsed. Céline Dion, on the other hand, confirmed that she would not sing “L’Hymne à l’amour” by Édith Piaf. She performed the song from the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games in July 2024. This performance will therefore remain a unique moment.
Will his voice hold?
This is obviously the big question after the health problems of the singer, suffering from stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disease which had forced her to cancel several tours and in particular her concerts planned at Paléo and in Zurich. Céline Dion has been rehearsing for about two weeks in Nanterre. According to witnesses cited by “Le Parisien”, the repetitions would be particularly reassuring: “She sends. His voice came back as before.”
Surprise guests?
No guests have been officially announced. However, several names are circulating, including Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian and Ycare. Charlotte Cardin also said this year that a duet with Celine Dion would be a dream. For now, this is just speculation.
Can we still find tickets?
The first sixteen dates were sold out, but an official resale platform between fans is open. La Plenitude Arena insists that this is the only safe and legal way to repurchase a ticket: the resale goes through the platform where the ticket was purchased and is done at the original price. For seats purchased directly from the Plenitude Arena, no paper ticket or printed PDF: access is done with the digital ticket loaded into the Fan Wallet application. The QR code works even without an internet connection once the ticket has been loaded.
Paris is already living in Céline time
The fever started even before the concert. On Friday, thousands of people took part in a giant karaoke dedicated to Céline Dion in Paris, including “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” and “My Heart Will Go On”. This Saturday, singers from the metro will still perform her songs in Saint-Lazare between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. then between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. A photo area will also be set up at La Défense before the concert.
Why this concert is historic
Celine Dion has not given a full concert since March 2020. Since then, the pandemic and then her illness have kept her away from tours. His spectacular appearance at the Paris Olympics in 2024 only lasted the length of a song. This Saturday evening therefore marks his real return to the stage, in front of tens of thousands of people. And the start of a residency which must continue until October 17, before ten new concerts in May
