After introducing the possibility of using two accounts on the same device, WhatsApp could go further given the success of this option. Spotted by the specialized site WABetaInfo in a beta version of the iOS system for iPhone, this new feature aims to simplify the management of several accounts without multiplying devices: Meta’s messaging service is reportedly working on the possibility of managing up to three simultaneous accounts on the same smartphone.
Until recently, users with two mobile numbers often had to use the classic WhatsApp app for the first and WhatsApp Business for the second, or use two separate smartphones. The addition of multi-account functionality (since 2023 on Android and end of 2025 on iOS) has simplified things and could soon be extended with the addition of a third account.
A third account directly in the app
According to WABetaInfo, this new profile can be added directly in the application settings. The site specifies that each account will benefit from completely autonomous management of conversation history, confidentiality options and its own locking system. Furthermore, to avoid any confusion when receiving messages, each notification will indicate the account to which it is attached.
The general public will, however, have to wait a few weeks, or even a few months, to obtain this new feature in a future update. The deployment of this option, still under development, is currently only accessible to a limited number of users. Testers of the beta version of the application do not yet have access to it.
