After almost ten years of relationship, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez, a Spanish model of Argentinian origin, got married on Tuesday in Cascais, near Lisbon.
From their meeting in 2016 in Madrid to their family life in Saudi Arabia, the five-time Ballon d’Or and the former saleswoman turned influencer have widely exposed their relationship. Here are five things to know about them.
1 – A meeting… at Gucci
Georgina and Ronaldo met in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she worked as a saleswoman. A meeting that they described as true “love at first sight”.
In an interview with “Vogue Arabia” in May 2025, Ronaldo asked her what she felt when she first met him. Georgina responded that from their first exchanges she felt “an inexplicable peace and energy” as if “they had known each other forever”.
At the time, Ronaldo had just ended a high-profile relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk that lasted nearly five years.
The story of this former saleswoman who became the companion of one of the most famous athletes in the world has since often been presented as a true modern fairy tale.
2 – An ultra-publicized couple
In almost ten years of relationship, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have built the image of a glamorous and highly publicized couple which goes far beyond the world of football.
Georgina is now a celebrity in her own right, with numerous advertising contracts and media appearances.
Yachts, sports cars, spectacular jewelry and luxurious residences: the couple regularly exposes their lifestyle on social networks, sharing numerous images of their vacations and their family life.
3 – A blended family
Their family life has become a central part of their public image. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is the father of five children. His eldest son, Cristiano Jr, was born in 2010, while twins Eva and Mateo were born in 2017. Ronaldo has always kept the identity of the mothers of his first three children a secret.
The couple then had two daughters, Alana Martina, born in 2017, and Bella Esméralda, born in 2022. The latter was born after the death of her twin brother, Angel, during childbirth, a tragedy that the couple had made public.
The couple raises five children together. Established since 2023 in Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays under the colors of Al-Nassr, the family regularly appears together on social networks, through photos of vacations, birthdays and moments of daily life.
“Our family comes first,” Georgina likes to remind us, adding that their daily life essentially revolves around football and children.
4 – More than 750 million subscribers for two
Together, they constitute a formidable media power. Their audience thus far exceeds 750 million subscribers, according to the figures displayed on their accounts. Ronaldo, with 678 million subscribers, is the most followed personality on Instagram. Georgina has around 77 million.
But Georgina’s notoriety is not limited to her status as a footballer’s companion. She has built a real career, notably thanks to “Soy Georgina” (Me, Georgina), the Netflix documentary series launched in 2022 and devoted to her life, her family and her daily life.
The series shows their world between travel, private jets, sumptuous villas, red carpets and family life.
His appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, at the Met Gala in New York and at major fashion events have also helped to establish him as a public figure.
5 – Two brands, one empire
Between them, they form two complementary brands: Ronaldo, global football superstar, and Georgina, fashion and social media personality.
Their notoriety constitutes a formidable commercial lever. Cristiano Ronaldo has developed the CR7 brand well beyond football, with investments notably in fashion, hospitality and well-being.
Georgina Rodriguez, for her part, transformed her notoriety into economic activity. Model and muse of international brands, she multiplies collaborations in fashion and beauty with brands like Guess, Chopard, Charlotte Tillbury and L’Oréal Paris.
