Geneviève de Fontenay is no more, but tensions have not disappeared in the large family of Miss France. This time, they pit Sylvie Tellier, Miss France 2002 and former general director of the Miss France Society, against Rachel Legrain-Trapani, who won the crown five years later.
Rachel Legrain-Trapani revealed that she had been excluded from “Bonnes Fées”, an association bringing together former Miss France and involved in particular with women suffering from cancer. A decision attributed to Sylvie Tellier, who chairs the organization.
The former Miss France 2007 reacted with a touch of bitterness, while acknowledging having been less available recently. “The discovery of the day (…) Things are clear,” she commented. Living far away, she admits to having participated less in the association’s activities, but assures that she wants to continue to put her notoriety at the service of charitable causes as soon as she can.
This quarrel comes as Sylvie Tellier recently sparked controversy after statements about cancer. In particular, she felt that a positive attitude could help a patient get through the ordeal better. Faced with criticism provoked by her remarks, she then apologized.
Rachel Legrain-Trapani, for her part, experienced a personal ordeal last year. During the Avignon Festival, where she presented her first one-woman show, she was the victim of sexual assault while taking a photo with a man. He was sentenced in May to a six-month suspended prison sentence.
