Alex Marquez wins the Spanish Grand Prix at home

The Andalusian Alex Marquez (Ducati-Gresini) won the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix on Sunday for the second consecutive year at home ahead of the Italians Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati-VR46), while the eldest of the Marquez brothers, Marc, fell.

The younger Marquez had a perfect race, his fourth Grand Prix victory, on the dry track of the Jerez de la Frontera circuit (Andalusia) unlike the rain which disrupted Saturday’s sprint won by seven-time world champion Marc Marquez on his official Ducati.

Starting from pole position, the Spanish driver, still convalescing after an injury to his right shoulder in October, fell heavily before restarting, but finished five laps behind his younger brother.
