Princess Diana will be the subject of a documentary series, based on five hours of unpublished recordings, which should be released in 2027, on the thirtieth anniversary of Lady Di’s tragic death, the producers announced on Thursday.
The working title of the series is “Diana: The Truth Never Heard.” Production companies Love Monday TV and 53 Degrees Global assure that this documentary on the British royal family will contain revelations that will “forever change the public’s perception of Diana”.
“The blunt remarks” of the ex-Princess of Wales “paint a more complete portrait: that of a woman who was under pressure, redefining her role and moving forward with conviction,” the producers developed in a press release.
Made in 1991, these recordings contain private conversations between Diana and her close friend, Doctor James Colthurst.
Smuggled out of Kensington Palace, where she lived with Charles, the recordings were given to the writer Andrew Morton, who used them in part for his book “Diana: Her True Story”, published in 1992.

But “in the three decades that have passed since Diana’s death, less than an hour of these recordings has been listened to,” assure the producers.
In these interviews, “we hear her infectious humor and sparkling laugh as she reveals truths about life within the world’s most famous family.”
“Viewers will be surprised to hear how right his predictions were,” the producers promise. “But what’s really impressive is hearing what Diana thought of Charles, Camilla, William, Harry, (former Duchess of York) Fergie and even Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, in light of everything that’s happened since.”
The series will also incorporate the point of view of Diana’s close entourage, including her advisors and close friends, her hairdresser, her bodyguard and her press secretary.
Diana died on August 31, 1997, in a car collision under the Pont de l’Alma in Paris, while her vehicle was being pursued by paparazzi.
Since his tragic death, the British royal family has experienced many twists and turns.
The current King Charles III married Camilla in 2005, and Prince Harry, Diana’s younger son, fell out with the family and moved to the United States with his wife Meghan.
More recently, Charles III’s younger brother Andrew fell from grace, lost his title and was even briefly arrested for his ties to sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.
