Two new candidates look to enter the 2024 Board of Education race in Carroll County: Amanda Jozkowski and Muri Lynn Dueppen

It appears two new candidates will officially enter the Board of Education race in 2024 later today. The following was announced on November 6, 2023 on the “Slate for Student Success” Facebook page:

“We have some exciting news to share! We are thrilled to announce that we plan to file as candidates for the Board of Education later today. In the meantime, please check out our websites and stay tuned for details coming SOON! – with Muri Lynn Dueppen for Board of Education and Amanda Jozkowski for Carroll County Board of Education”

For a little political background on these two candidates:

  • Amanda Jozkowski ran for BOE in 2022. In the Primary she finished 3rd (out of 8 candidates) and moved on the the General Election. In the 2022 General Election she finished in 5th place (out of 6 candidates).
  • Muri Lynn Dueppen ran for BOE in 2018 coming in 7th in the Primary (out of 11 candidates) and did not receive enough votes to move on to the General Election that year.

After their filing, Jozkowski and Dueppen will join Greg Malveaux and Kristen Zihmer as the official candidates in the race in 2024 (to date). The candidate filing deadline is February 9, 2024.
