I know the the 2026 elections feels like a long time from now but you are already seeing candidates begin to prep for that election cycle.

Delegate Nino Mangione has announced that he plans to seek the State Senate seat in District 42 in 2026 (replacing State Senator Chris West who will not be seeking reelection).

Delegate Mangione has already picked up a big endorsement from Carroll County in that election (from Carroll County State’s Attorney Haven Shoemaker). Here is what Delegate Mangione posted on November 7th:

I think Delegate Nino Mangione is exactly the person we need in the State Senate. I worked with Nino in the House of Delegates and found him well informed, hard working and a conservative. We need leadership in Annapolis who share our values and Nino will represent our values well. He believes in punishing violent offenders, parental rights in education and not raising taxes. Nino will be an effective Senator for Carroll County and the rest of District 42.
