Commissioner Guerin expresses opposition to the sale of marijuana in Carroll County

Carroll County Commissioner Mike Guerin made the following statements on June 15th regarding the sale of marijuana in Carroll County:

“I am discussing whether we are going to approve or disapprove of the sale of it (marijuana) in Carroll County. I hope residents join me in my opposition to this.”

“This is not about whether we’re going to ban the use of it (marijuana) in Carroll County this is about whether we want to sell it (marijuana) in Carroll County”.

“I know there are legal concerns moving forward but I’ll go back to what I said earlier if I think something’s bad for Carroll County I will oppose it and I will not make excuses for that and I will not make apologies.”

Cannabis – Legalization of Adult Use and Possession

Do you favor the legalization of the use of cannabis by an individual who is at least 21 years of age on or after July 1, 2023, in the State of Maryland?

  • Statewide: 67.20% voted for the Constitutional Amendment
  • Carroll County: 59.43% voted for the Constitutional Amendment
