The Observer is closely watching for candidates entering the 2024 race for Board of Education in Carroll County. Two seats on the Carroll County Board of Education will be open in 2024 (Donna M. Sivigny and Marsha B. Herbert are both term limited and can not run again for Board of Education this election cycle).

One potential candidate on the radar is Greg Malveaux. His name had been circulating in some circles to keep an eye on this election cycle and so his name was added to the “2024 Carroll County Board of Education Candidate Tracker” as a possible candidate.

On May 31st a Candidate Committee Registration for “Friends of Greg Malveaux” was established. You can view the information about that committee HERE.

On June 1st The Observer upgraded the Greg Malveaux from a Possible candidate to a Likely candidate in the “2024 Carroll County Board of Education Candidate Tracker

An attempt to reach out to Greg for additional information or confirmation went unanswered.

At this point no campaign website or campaign social media channels have been located and no official announcement has been seen by The Observer. For this reason the status of “Likely” was assigned to Greg Malveaux at this time.

The Observer lists one other “Likely” candidate in 2024 at this time: Amanda Jozkowski. Amanda ran in the 2022 election for Board of Education (5th place in the General Election). She has an open campaign finance entity (that received more than $1,600 in January 2023). Her campaign social media account on Facebook has remained active after the 2022 election ended.

As for the morning of June 2, 2023 no candidates have officially filed to run for Board of Education in Carroll County in 2024 as you can see HERE.

Note: Have names you think should be added to the watch list – email: news@carrollcountyobserver.com and let us know the name(s) and why you think they should be added.
