Today is ELECTION DAY in Taneytown:

A stray cat that was acting strangely has tested positive for the rabies virus. The short-haired orange tabby cat lived in the Taneytown area of Carroll County near the intersection of Stumptown Road and Sells Mill Road.

Together We Own It (located in Westminster) has reduced their online presence. Still waiting to see additional updates on the future of this organization.

The City of Westminster will hold a General Election on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The election is for three (3) members of the Common Council of the City of Westminster for four years commencing on May 15, 2023.

Some state or national news of interest:

With the 2024 elections coming up (before we know it)…expect more and more candidates / elected officials to switch positions (or to take strong positions) on this issue (that is my guess). Time will tell if I am correct.

Your DC Defenders Playoff Update from this weekend:

XFL Championship is on May 13th and between Arlington and DC. The Observer is planning to travel to San Antonio to watch and cover that game for followers (and let’s be honest…for myself).

And finally: On a personal note…covering stories (like the opening of Braglio Farms Smokehouse in Finksburg – see video here: https://www.facebook.com/CarrollObserver/videos/621107579822299) pays off sometimes.

I am 5 for 5 on visiting to get the items they offer weekly…and I can further report all items have been outstanding.
