Another Gas Tax increase is coming to Maryland in 2023 – here is part of the discussion to stop it
Text from a social media post by Jeff Ghrist (Delegate, District 36): Jeff Ghrist
This was yet another attempt by the House Republicans to stop a huge increase to the gas tax in July. The party that has been controlling Maryland policies for centuries have consistently worked hard to take your hard earned money. Infuriating.
Watch some of the discussion (Delegate Fisher from Calvert County Friends of Mark Fisher) on the amendment (Rejected 38-90) here and be sure to take close note of the image at the end of the video who voted yes to stop the upcoming increase and who voted no to let the upcoming gas tax hike hit us all in July.
This was an exchange between Delegate Szeliga and Delegate Morgan about stopping the upcoming gas tax hike that will hit Maryland in 2023.
“So a vote for your amendment is a vote to tell the citizens in the state of Maryland that you do not want their gas taxes to go up July 1st, is that correct
Yes, and a vote against this amendment is saying to the Maryland
citizens that I support a sixty two point four million dollars tax increase…”
The amendment was Rejected 38-90…be sure to take close note of the image at the end of the video who voted yes to stop the upcoming increase and who voted no to let the upcoming gas tax hike hit us all in July.
