The 2022-2023 Carroll County Public Schools school year is scheduled to start soon (September 6th). The fall high school sports season is scheduled to kick off just before the school year starts (high school football games start on September 2nd).

The Carroll County Observer is looking for students (or parents) interested in sharing game recaps and/or photos from high school sporting events with the community.

Scott E’s Blog provided this service to the community in the past (for schools in Howard County) and I am hoping to recreate this opportunity here in Carroll County.

Here are some examples of articles from students, parents and members of the community in Howard County:

Howard County Girls Basketball: Lady Vikings win 49-33 over the Centennial Eagles

Howard County and Carroll County Boys Basketball: Additional photos from Winters Mill win over Mt. Hebron on December 13th

Howard County Boys Lacrosse: Glenelg tops Mt. Hebron 11 to 10 on May 10th – Photos from the game

Those are just a very few examples of students and parents providing game recaps and photos to the community. There are significantly more photos from Howard County and Carroll County sports in the past here on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/scotteblog/photos_albums

If you know any Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS) students, parents or members of the community interested in journalism or photography, maybe this can be an opportunity for them to get to write or take photos for our local community over the next school year. The Observer has already heard from one member of the community interested in sharing content with our community and we are super excited to share their content this upcoming sports season:

If students, parents or members of the community would like additional details, have them reach out to news@carrollcountyobserver.com via email or use our CONTACT FORM to reach out.
