Many leaders in Maryland (and the nation) put out another call for a gas tax holiday…but it looks unlikely to happen in Maryland anytime soon.
Here are some statements calling for a new gas tax holiday:
President Joe Biden: I mention this statement because the President says “…and for states to provide similar relief”
Earlier today, I called on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax for three months and for states to provide similar relief.
I’m also urging oil companies to increase refining capacity and gas stations to pass along the decrease in oil prices to lower gas prices. pic.twitter.com/Hrk9t3mOuq

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan:
Nearly 100 days ago, Maryland became the first state to suspend the gas tax & we proved that it can be done successfully. We are again calling on the Comptroller and the General Assembly to take action, and I am prepared to swiftly sign a gas tax suspension.
