Sommer and Brugge beat Inter, Bayern overthrow Viking

- Jackson Avery

The feat of the evening in the Champions League was achieved by Club Bruges. The Belgians won 3-4 on the pitch of Inter Milan, Yann Sommer’s former club, thanks to a hat-trick from Tresoldi (30th sp, 63rd, 74th). The Interists had meanwhile equalized through Martinez, just before the break (44th), then reduced the score at the end of the match (81st).

While the Milanese were pushing to try to come back to the score, Vermant, with a nice counter flick, came to crucify them (87th). Bonny saved Inter’s honor one last time at the very end of the match (90th + 3).

Crazy match in Norway

Crazy match between Bayern Munich and Viking Stavanger. The Norwegians led 2-0 at the break, after goals from Stensness (2nd) and Christiansen (38th). They believed in the feat, but Bayern had another idea in mind when they returned from the locker room.

And it was the inevitable Harry Kane who put the Bavarians back on the right path, first by converting a penalty (54th), then by scoring with a header (60th). It was finally Luis Diaz who allowed Bayern to get back in front (71st), with a nice right-footed shot under the crossbar. We thought the meeting was over, but the Scandinavians didn’t give up, especially after the expulsion of Michael Olise (74th). Haugen finally allowed the Viking to come back and take an unexpected point at kick-off.

The north of France is taking on water

The two clubs from the north of France involved on Tuesday evening had their fill. Lens, completely ineffective, lost 0-2 at home to Sporting Portugal on the second day of the Champions League league stage on Tuesday at the Bollaert stadium. Largely dominant, the Lensois were punished in each half: first by former Marseillais Luis Suarez, on the first Lisbon breakthrough (22nd), then by Issa Doumbia (74th).

For its part, Lille showed itself to be very valiant on Arsenal’s pitch. But the reigning European vice-champions made the difference in a few minutes after the hour mark, to win 3-0, thanks to goals from Timber (64th), Eze (67th) and Saka.

Among the other results, we can note the victory of FC Barcelona on the lawn of Galatasaray (1-4). Villarreal dominated Napoli 3-1. Leipzig beat PSV Eindhoven 1-0. Atlético Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0. Villarreal won 3-1 against Napoli.
