Have you recently gone shopping at Lidl and have some smoked trout fillets in your fridge? Be careful to consume this product! Listeria monocytogenes bacteria have been detected in Nautica brand nets, the Federal Office of Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs (FSVO) recently announced. Lidl immediately removed them from the shelves and issued a recall.

The product concerned is sold in 125 gram packaging and has a use-by date of November 1, 2026. The OSAV recommends not consuming it due to a possible health risk.

In most healthy people, an infection causes few or no symptoms. However, it can cause serious complications in the elderly or immunocompromised people, young children and pregnant women. In the latter case, an infection can notably cause a miscarriage or serious complications for the newborn, explains a press release from the OSAV warning the population.
