Donald Trump has chosen Katie Zacharia, a commentator close to the Maga movement, to be his new spokesperson, a White House official told AFP on Friday.
“The position was offered to her,” said the official, who requested anonymity, about this Californian who had already been spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security for several weeks, from February to April 2026.

Katie Zacharia is a regular on the sets of Fox News and Newsmax, channels widely followed by American conservatives. According to her biographical information on the LinkedIn site, she also works for the media company linked to the US president, Trump Media and Technology Group, as well as his Truth Social platform.
She also belongs to the conservative organization Fix California, founded by a close friend of Donald Trump, Richard Grenell. A doctor of law, she lived for two years in China, between 2011 and 2013, where she worked for a law firm. Married, Katie Zacharia has four children.
