Hugh Hefner’s widow warns Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel has not yet started filming and her next film is already causing a stir. Justin Timberlake’s wife is to play in “Playmates” a fictional character of a former playmate who became the wife of Hugh Hefner, the founder, in 1953, of the famous charm magazine “Playboy”. Announced a few days ago by the specialist press, the film will be directed by Lorraine Nicholson, daughter of Jack Nicholson, who will make her first feature film on this occasion.

When the casting was announced, Hugh Hefner’s widow wrote a private message to Jessica Biel on Instagram, before making her message public. “Please reconsider your decision to play Hugh Hefner’s wife if this film is intended to romanticize him or idealize the Playboy universe,” wrote Crystal Harris, who was the wife of the magazine owner until his death in 2017.

“I was truly his wife and I suffered sexual, emotional, financial and physical abuse within that relationship,” she continued, emphasizing that she was not the only victim. “Many other women have testified that they were victims of rape, coercion, drug administration and exploitation,” she insisted. “Very worrying concerns also concern minors.”

Before concluding: “I hope that everyone who participated in this film will take the time to listen to the women who lived through these events before contributing to Hollywood transforming them into a simple nostalgic memory.”

Crystal Harris, 39, remarried last April to businessman James Ward, 42. “It’s the first time in my life that I really felt safe and protected in a relationship,” she confided, while in her memoirs, she presented the Playboy mansion as a “prison”.
