“Being a politician means being exposed to that,” Marine Tondelier lamented on X, relaying a drawing from “Charlie Hebdo”. (Below) The French satirical newspaper has indeed returned in its own way to the birth of the second child of the French boss of the Ecologists, candidate for the Élysée. And he is subject to a barrage of criticism.
“I’m looking for the joke but I can’t find it, can you help me? This drawing evokes a lot of words for me but “funny” really doesn’t come to mind,” wrote Marine Tondelier.
Others were more virulent, as reported by “Dauphiné”. “It’s sexist, misogynistic, filthy and Charlie Hebdo is accustomed to doing so” castigated LFI (France insoumise) MP Aurélie Trouvé.
“Charlie makes the drawings he wants, including big, vulgar drawings of m… not funny and misogynistic,” attacked the elected environmentalist Sophie Bussière, notes the HuffPost. LFI MP Sarah Legrain described the drawing as “dehumanizing, dirty and humiliating”.
Marine Tondelier – like the other politicians who reacted virulently – however wanted to emphasize that the newspaper is completely free to publish this type of drawing. But in short, she is also completely free to say whatever bad things she thinks about it.
