“I came to my senses: Lee kept lying. I’ve had enough. It’s over,” Katie Price reportedly confided to a friend. The romance was as spectacular as it was brief. Katie Price has decided to leave her husband Lee Andrews and discreetly consulted a London divorce lawyer, reports “The Sun”. The couple got married eight months ago.
The former British model would have announced her decision to her husband via WhatsApp. “I’ve been fooled and you’re not who you say you are. Why did you lie to me?”, she allegedly wrote to him. Lee Andrews is currently detained in the United Arab Emirates.
It was the discovery of the real state of her husband’s finances that would have definitively convinced Katie Price. Lee Andrews told him he had $50 million, or around £37 million, in a cryptocurrency portfolio. He even promised her part of this fortune and provided the recovery phrase allowing access to the account.
On Monday, Katie Price reportedly sought help from a financial specialist to view the portfolio. Surprise: it only contained 2 fr 40, or 2.22 pounds. According to a source cited by “The Sun”, the largest amount to have passed through this account in one day would have been $14,490, a sum which would have been transferred the same day.
Married a few days after meeting
The story started at a breakneck pace. Lee Andrews proposed to Katie Price just ten days after they met. On January 25, they organized a surprise ceremony in a hotel in Dubai. This first union, however, had no legal value. Their marriage was finally officially registered on February 17 at the Abu Dhabi Civil Family Court.
Embarrassing revelations quickly piled up around Lee Andrews. “The Sun” claims in particular that he had used images generated by artificial intelligence to suggest that he had relationships with personalities like Kim Kardashian or Elon Musk. The University of Cambridge also reportedly indicated that it had no record of the doctorate in engineering he claimed.
Several women have also accused him of having defrauded them, accusations which he disputes. An American woman notably claims to have lost 123,000 pounds in one of her investments. A former partner was allegedly the victim of a falsified mortgage loan of 200,000 pounds taken out in her name.
Currently in prison in Dubai
Lee Andrews, 43, is currently detained in Al Awir Prison, United Arab Emirates. According to “The Sun”, he is trying to raise the money necessary to pay a fine allowing his release and continues to proclaim his innocence.
Katie Price no longer plans to go to Dubai to see him. She is also said to be concerned that her husband will try to claim part of her income as part of their separation and hopes to be able to divorce amicably.
The affair could, however, experience media coverage. According to the star’s entourage, Katie Price would have kept screenshots, voice messages and documents related to the tricks carried out with artificial intelligence. She would now consider making a documentary inspired by “The Tinder Scammer”.
