The world of French television is in mourning. Franco-Bulgarian actress Natalia Dontcheva died on Saturday at the age of 56. His agent announced the sad news to “Figaro”. The causes of his death have not been revealed.
Natalia Dontcheva was mainly known for having played in several series produced by the television channel TF1. Viewers were notably able to see her in “Julie Lescaut”, “A Woman of Honor”, “Le Tableau Noir”, and even “Joséphine Ange Gardien”. In this series, she played the role of Mimmie Mathy’s client on several occasions. She worked alongside Thierry Lhermitte in the television series “Doc Martin” between 2011 and 2015.
During her career, the actress also made a few appearances in the cinema. She got roles in the films “Madame de Joncquières” and “L’Apparition”, both released in 2018.
Natalia Dontcheva was also active in the theater. She had notably given the answer to Daniel Auteuil, in “The Imaginary Sick”, a play written by Molière.
On Instagram, his son-in-law Hugo Sélignac, producer of the film “L’amour ouf”, paid him a vibrant tribute. “My Natalia, I didn’t like the title of ‘Beautiful’ mother, because when we met, I was no longer a child and a stepmother, I had already had one, but you can’t know to what extent I found you to be a ‘Beautiful’ person and that I deeply loved who you were. On the Sélignac side, our base was you. The only promise I can make to you today is that I will do everything to maintain what you fought to keep alive.”
