American actress Jennifer Grey, known for her performances in the films “Red Dawn”, “Cotton Club”, “Ferris Bueller’s Crazy Day” and, above all, “Dirty Dancing”, is in mourning.
Jennifer Gray announced on social networks the death of her mother, actress and singer Jo Wilder, at the age of 94. She took her last breath on July 4, explains the unforgettable interpreter of Baby Houseman.
“My mother passed away on July 4 at age 94 by choice, on her own terms, and exactly how she lived,” writes Jennifer Gray in a moving message.
“A week earlier, she learned that she was suffering from lung cancer. True to herself, she favored grace over fear, understanding that leaving this world with dignity is an honor, not a tragedy,” continues the “Dirty Dancing” star.
Jennifer Gray adds: “She was beautiful and talented; in her youth, she was a promising young actress on New York stages. She often said that she never fully followed through on this calling, choosing to become a mother instead. If she had prioritized ambition over my brother and me, we would never have had the mother that was ours.”
“She was courageous and profound. I love you, Mom. Thank you for showing me how to accomplish everything, even this, with grace,” she concludes.
