France was surprised by Ivory Coast 2-1, Thursday evening in Nantes, for its first preparation match for the World Cup (June 11 to July 19).

Rayan Cherki opened the scoring for the Blues just before the break (45th). The Ivorians quickly responded with Guéla Doué (53rd) – older brother of Désiré, recent winner of the Champions League with PSG left on the French bench. Amad Diallo gave the Elephants victory at the end of the match (84th).

The Blues will play another friendly match on Monday in Lille against Northern Ireland before flying to the United States, where they will begin the World Cup against Senegal on June 16 in East Rutherford.
