Hollywood stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who clashed with complaints against the backdrop of accusations of sexual harassment made by the actress, reached an amicable agreement on Monday putting an end to their legal battle, according to a press release from their lawyers.
The latter accepted an amicable settlement, the amount of which was not disclosed.
“We recognize the difficulties encountered during this procedure and understand that the concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard (…) We sincerely hope that this will allow this case to be closed and to move forward in a constructive and calm manner,” lawyers for Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively said in a joint statement.
A few hours after this announcement, the actress appeared at the Met Gala in New York, smiling and to everyone’s surprise, in a spectacular ball gown.
She filed a complaint in December against Justin Baldoni for inappropriate behavior and comments, particularly of a sexual nature, during the filming of the drama “Nevermore”, released in 2024.
The complaint stated that the 42-year-old actor, also the director of the film, had made inappropriate comments about his sex life and had sought to modify the film to include sex scenes that were not in the initial script and had not been approved.
The 38-year-old actress, revealed by the series “Gossip Girl”, also criticized Justin Baldoni for having led a campaign aimed at ruining her reputation.
The actor and studio Wayfarer had filed a countersuit against Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for extortion and defamation – but Judge Liman dismissed those charges last year.
