Gilles Vautier, voice and host of Bill, the virtual creature of the show “Le Bigdil”, was the victim of a serious scooter accident on April 19. Vincent Lagaf’s accomplice testifies from his hospital bed on Instagram.

“Let’s say I’m alive, and that’s the main thing. A shock, a lot of pain, a few damaged pieces… and here I am stuck in a bed, watching time pass with a few wires as companions,” explains the man who has lent his voice and gestures to the extraterrestrial since 1998.

“I fix the pieces”

Visibly in poor condition but grateful to still be in one piece, Gilles Vautier is full of praise for the nursing staff who took care of him in the intensive care unit: “A place where every second counts, where every gesture can change a life. And there, I met incredible people. Solène, Morgane, Leïla, Linda, Ryan – the samba man – who gave me stitches as clean as his smile, Jean-Baptiste, night nurse in the emergency room, the one who immediately understood that it was not trivial, Emma, Élodie, Betty… And so many others whose first names are still running through my head.”

And to describe: “They were of a gentleness, a kindness, a good humor… almost unreal. And yet, they work under constant stress. Not because of the patients — no. Because of lack of resources, lack of beds, lack of staff. These people are doing immense work, under conditions that few would accept. And me?
I fix the pieces. Calmly.”
