The final scheduled Work Session for the FY25 Budget in Carroll County is on Tuesday, May 21st at 9:00am. Commissioners are expected to make any final decisions on the adopted budget during that Work Session meeting.

The main sticking point left for the Commissioners is on Tax Increases for FY25. All indications is that the proposed Recordation Tax increase is going to happen (from $5.00/$500 to $6.50/$500). The proposed Property Tax increase (from $1.018/100 to $1.038/100) is the one item Commissioners are expected to spend some time discussing on Tuesday.

Commissioner Joe Vigliotti made a number of proposals to remove the Property Tax increase in FY25 (See Video Clips) back on May 16th but was unable to get the support needed on that day to remove that tax increase proposal.

On May 16th Commissioner Kenny Kiler made a motion to pass the FY25 budget with both tax increases (Property and Recordation) included but that motion failed by a vote of 2-3 (Learn More).
