West Point Graduate, Tech Industry Leader Hones in to Serve the Community He Calls Home

Juan Dominguez, a West Point graduate and Gulf War combat veteran, business leader, and son of Cuban immigrants who has been running a historic campaign for United States Senate, announced today that he will bring his bold vision home to the community he loves — focusing his run on the U.S. House of Representatives for Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District. Dominguez, who resides in Severna Park with his wife Cheyenne and their two sons, made the decision based on an opportunity to continue a lifetime of service with a focus on improving the livelihood and economic well-being of middle class families representing the district he and his family call home.

“I got into this race to serve the people of Maryland and make sure every community has a voice and seat at the table in Washington,” said Dominguez. “The opportunity to serve in the district I live in while uplifting the community my family calls home is once in a lifetime. I am ready to report for duty to the 3rd District. The mission remains the same — we will fight to relieve pressures on everyday families, provide quality education for every child, and ensure everyone has the economic opportunity to thrive. We will bring the battle-tested leadership and fresh vision the district deserves.”

Dominguez brings a unique voice to the race as a West Point graduate, Army combat platoon leader, and technology business executive who has dedicated his life to service. His campaign pillars include a Robinhood Tax to address income inequality and ensure everyone pays their fair share, universal pre-K and debt-free college, and healthcare for all. These pillars will remain central to his run. In Congress, Dominguez will champion the Economic Bill of Rights in the fight for true individual freedom and economic security for all residents of Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District.

As a seasoned veteran of the technology industry, Dominguez understands the importance of investing in innovation to maintain America’s global leadership in critical fields like cybersecurity. “We must encourage technology breakthroughs that reflect our values while vigorously defending national interests in emerging arenas like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and advanced wireless infrastructure,” said Dominguez. By fostering technology leadership grounded in democratic ideals, America can advance freedom and security worldwide.

Dominguez has tapped top Latino and multicultural firm Conexión to provide strategic guidance and messaging as he brings his bold progressive vision to the 3rd District race. With decades of combined experience, Conexión was recently launched by renowned creative strategist Colin Rogero, former Biden White House public engagement leader Adrián Saenz, ex-White House deputy communications director Pili Tobar, and Marsha Espinosa, former communications director for the Department of Homeland Security.

In addition to Conexión, Dominguez has also partnered with award-winning Latino-owned and operated political and nonprofit consulting firm Solidarity Strategies to amplify his campaign’s messaging with Latino voters. Solidarity Strategies was recently the first ever minority-owned firm awarded the prestigious 2023 Reed Award for Creative Agency of the Year for excellence in political campaigning.

Rounding out Dominguez’s consulting team are key additions including Lake Research Partners, the nation’s most consistently accurate and progressive research firm founded in 1995 by Celinda Lake whose cutting-edge insights will provide a winning compass for the campaign; SBD Digital, an innovative digital advertising agency led by Managing Partner Bret Wask leveraging the latest platforms and targeting techniques for persuasive voter outreach; and Azul Strategies, a Latina-owned fundraising firm spearheaded by Becky Colmenero-Sheetz.

With expertise spanning political campaigns, corporations, nonprofits, and national security, Conexión, Solidarity Strategy, Lake Research Partners, SBD Digital, and Azul Strategies’ combination of strategic minds, communications experts, and creative firepower makes them uniquely equipped to build meaningful connections with Maryland’s diverse communities. Dominguez said, “I’m thrilled to partner with the incredible trailblazing teams at Conexión, Solidarity Strategies, Lake Research Partners, SBD Digital, and Azul Strategies to ensure we engage with and uplift all voices across the 3rd District in culturally competent ways. Together we’ll run a historic campaign putting traditionally disenfranchised communities and the middle class first, and creating an economy where all people can live with human dignity.”

As reported by Maryland Matters, Dominguez has already displayed “no evident nervousness” matching political veterans “and was as quick on his feet and as fluent on the issues as his opponents” following a recent Latino Democrats of Prince George’s County forum. Combined with his fluency in Spanish, he will fight to represent the diverse voices of the 3rd District. As a local community leader and youth coach, Dominguez is committed to a better tomorrow for the future of the district’s residents. Dominguez and his family are also proud supporters of The United States Naval Academy serving as a volunteer local family sponsor for three Midshipmen.

Dominguez continued, “I’m ready to take my passion for economic and social justice to Congress as a voice for Anne Arundel, Carroll, and Howard counties. As Maryland’s first Latino Representative, I’ll wake up every morning marshaling all my energy to build a government that puts working families first, puts hard earned money back in people’s pockets, and gives everyone the opportunity to thrive.”
