Carroll County Public Schools get approval to adjust the last day of school for students to Friday, June 9, 2023

The Maryland State Board of Education has approved our Board’s request for a waiver to adjust the length of the 2022-2023 student school year by one day. Therefore, the last day of school for students will be Friday, June 9, 2023, with a two hour and forty-five minute dismissal systemwide.

The last day of school for CCPS students was originally scheduled to be June 15th (per the CCPS Calendar)

On April 13th the school system announced: Board of Education Requests Waiver for Last Day of School

  • Carroll County Public Schools has used only one of the four inclement weather days built into the 2022-2023 school calendar, leaving three days unused and making the last day of school Monday, June 12th.
  • At its meeting on Wednesday, April 12th, the Board of Education voted to request a waiver from the State Board of Education that would make the last day of school Friday, June 9th. The last day will be a two hour and forty-five minute dismissal systemwide.
  • Further updates will be provided when a decision is received from the state.
