Mount Airy Police Department reports traffic stop leads to the arrest of three individuals for various gun and drug charges

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO GUN AND DRUG CHARGES

On 08/09/2022 at approximately 1:00 AM, a Mount Airy Police Department (MAPD) Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of E Ridgeville Blvd and Route 27, which lead to the arrest of three individuals for various gun and drug charges.

POSSESSION W/ INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE; FENTANYL, MULTIPLE FIREARM CHARGES / E RIDGEVILLE BLVD AT ROUTE 27 / TUESDAY, AUGUST 9TH, 2022

On 8/9/22 at approximately 0100 hours, Mount Airy Officers conducted a traffic stop at E Ridgeville Blvd at Route 27. A K9 scan of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 38 grams Fentanyl, various paraphernalia and a loaded handgun. The arrested individuals, Cody McCusker, Matthew Snyder and Angel Emmart are prohibited from possessing a firearm due to all three individuals having felony convictions in West Virginia. All three were arrested and transported to Carroll County Detention Center

A K9 scan of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 38 grams Fentanyl, various paraphernalia and a loaded handgun. The arrested individuals, Cody McCusker, Matthew Snyder and Angel Emmart are prohibited from possessing a firearm due to all three individuals having felony convictions in West Virginia. All three were arrested and transported to Carroll County Detention Center. A further search of Emmart’s person revealed that she had attempted to smuggle methamphetamine into the Detention Center.

On 8/9/22 at approximately 0100 hours, Mount Airy Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for moving violations at E Ridgeville Blvd at Route 27. A K9 scan of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 38 grams  of Fentanyl, various paraphernalia and a loaded handgun. The arrested individuals, Cody McCusker, Matthew Snyder and Angel Emmart are prohibited from possessing a firearm due to all three individuals having felony convictions in West Virginia. McCusker attempted to provide a false identity to Law Enforcement because there was a warrant out for is arrest. All three were arrested and transported to Carroll County Detention Center for processing.
