Carroll County Softball: Liberty tops Francis Scott Key and moves on to the Regional Finals of the 2022 MPSSAA State Tournament

The weather washed out most 2022 MPSSAA Girls Softball State Tournament games on May 16th but one Carroll County game did happen: #2 seed Francis Scott Key vs #3 seed Liberty in the 1A Girls Softball State Tournament. Liberty won the game 13 to 0 and now moves on the the Regional Finals.


Four teams from Carroll County are scheduled to make up their Regional Semifinal games today (May 17th):

3A East Region: #2 seed Manchester Valley vs #3 seed Mt. Hebron

2A West Region: #1 seed Century vs #4 seed Winters Miil

1A North Region: #1 seed Western Tech vs #5 seed South Carroll


Championship Timeframe

The following championship schedule will be used.  All games must be played on their designated date unless a graduation or inclement weather occur.

Regional Quarterfinal – Thursday, May 12 (Regional Sites)

Regional Semifinals – Monday, May 16 (Regional Sites)

Regional Finals – Wednesday, May 18(Regional Sites)

State Quarterfinals – Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 (Regional Sites)

State Semifinals – Tuesday, May 24 (Bachman Sports Complex) – Tickets

State Championships – Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 (University of Maryland, College Park) Tickets
