Lausanne failed to raise its head on the ice of Lugano. Two days after its heavy defeat at home against the SCL Tigers, the LHC lost again, this time 4-0 in Ticino. Sharper and more solid in important moments, the Luganese logically took the upper hand.
The locals were quick to make a difference. Luca Fazzini took advantage of a missed Lausanne clearance to open the scoring after less than four minutes, before Olle Lycksell made it 2-0. Lausanne had a few opportunities to come back, notably with numerical superiority, but lacked efficiency while regularly leaving too much space in their own zone.
Luca Fazzini, him again
The scenario did not improve in the second third. Fazzini scored twice before Zach Sanford, perfectly served by Rasmus Kupari, widened the gap further. Jason Fuchs thought he had finally unlocked the Lausanne counter at the end of the period, but his goal was canceled after a coach challenge from Lugano for offside. Despite several interventions from Kevin Pasche, Lausanne found themselves trailing 4-0 after forty minutes.
No goal was ultimately scored in the final third, Lugano content to manage its lead while Lausanne never really managed to restart the match. The two teams will return to the ice on Saturday October 31: Lugano will travel to Ambrì for the Ticino derby, while the LHC will try to react at home against Davos.
