It is common knowledge that condoms are offered to athletes who stay in the Olympic village during the Olympics. During the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, the 10,000 condoms made available to athletes were sold out in just three days. In Paris, in 2024, between 200,000 and 300,000 condoms had been distributed.

Guest of the “Lockin” podcast, Frenchman Tony Yoka confirmed what was happening at the Olympics, outside of sporting competitions. “The Olympic Village? It’s dark (editor’s note: dark)confirmed the 2016 Olympic boxing champion.

He continues: “In every room you have a box of condoms. For three weeks, you are there, there are maybe 10,000 athletes and among them not many medalists. There are some who come just to enjoy it.”

A meal with Usain Bolt

The boxer, who also participated in the London Olympics in 2012, where he was eliminated in the first round, told another tasty anecdote linked to the sponsors of the Olympics. “Beats was a sponsor of the Olympics in 2016 and when you went to the Beats store in the Olympic village, when you presented your accreditation, they offered you a headset in the colors of France. And if you had a medal, they gave you another helmet in the colors of your medal.”

And in 2012, Tony Yoka was entitled to free McDonald’s meals. “I’m 20 years old and I’m told it’s free. I order and sit across from Usain Bolt. While eating, you can come across people like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer, it’s totally crazy,” he adds.
