Prince William dreamed of being a DJ and already had his nickname

What if the future king of England had made a career behind turntables? Prince William surprised viewers by taking part in the “Graham Norton Show”, broadcast on Friday October 23 on BBC One.

Installed on the famous red sofa alongside Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham and Robert Irwin, the heir to the British throne took part in the game of secrets, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Asked about the profession he would have chosen if he had not been born into the royal family, William mentioned two vocations far removed from his current functions.

“I wasn’t particularly good”

“When I was younger, I really wanted to become a police officer. I thought I would do a good one,” said the 44-year-old Prince of Wales. But this first ambition then gave way to a more unexpected passion: music. “I went through a period where I wanted to be a DJ, but I wasn’t particularly good at it,” he admitted with a laugh.

He even imagined his stage name: DJ Xara, with an X. A choice that he now considers unconvincing. When asked about his possible performances at student parties, William admitted that his DJ skills were rather limited.

Charlotte and Louis addicted to “Traitors”

The prince also spoke about his family’s television habits. With Kate and their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, he particularly enjoys the British reality TV show “The Celebrity Traitors”, presented by Claudia Winkleman.

“I adore. The whole family loves it. Charlotte and Louis are completely crazy about it. It’s really good television,” he said. Another passion of the prince: football, and more particularly his favorite club, Aston Villa, where the Swiss international Johan Manzambi plays.

Fan of Christopher Nolan

When it comes to cinema, William appreciates action films, but especially works that invite you to think. His favorite director is Christopher Nolan, to whom we owe the trilogy “The Dark Knight”, dedicated to Batman. “His films are fantastic. The trilogy is psychologically dark and deep, and I really like that,” explained the prince. He particularly admires the filmmaker’s ability to transform complex concepts into captivating spectacles.

According to the “Daily Mail”, William would be the first member of the British royal family to participate in the “Graham Norton Show”.
