Inter Milan captain and scorer Lautaro Martinez injured his left thigh, his club announced on Thursday, and will be unavailable for a month, the Italian press reports.

“Lautaro Martínez today, Thursday, underwent clinical examinations at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano. Examinations revealed muscular inflammation in the hamstrings of the left thigh,” explained the reigning Italian champion in a brief press release.

The duration of his unavailability has not been specified, but according to “la Gazzetta dello Sport” and the Sky television channel, the Argentinian will be absent until the next international break. He will therefore miss a month of competition, including the Milan derby on October 31.

On Tuesday, Martinez scored two of the three goals for his team beaten by Club Bruges (4-3) on the second day of the league phase of the Champions League. He played the entire match.

The Argentinian has already scored four goals in the league this season for Inter Milan, co-leader of Serie A with Lazio Rome (16 pts) and facing Bologna on Saturday for the 7th day.
